About
A wife, a knife and a life.
Like a trainwreck you won’t be able to look away as we share our weekend cook-offs.
I’m not entirely fond of cooking. Some days I actually hate it. I’m of the mindset that life’s too short to wash food processors. It’s a challenge to make meals that everyone in my family enjoys. Miranda is 23 months old, Ally is 5 years old, Zachary is 8 years old, and we have baby Matthew who isn’t on solids yet. I want the kids to try new foods, but I’m short on time and everyone has different likes and dislikes. For instance, I’m the only one that refuses to eat fish and seafood.
As the primary cook in the family, it’s B-O-R-I-N-G to cook the same ole quick and easy meals, but at the same time I know my family won’t eat frou-frou dinners. Gabe and I decided to have a little fun competition on weekends. We’ll try new recipes, adapt them to our own taste preferences and have the kids rate them. He cooks one day on the weekend and I cook the other. If a recipe receives good ratings, it will be added to our regular meal rotation.
You won’t find magazine quality photos or fine cuisine. You’ll find practical recipes that an average busy family can make. It’s my goal to answer the daily question of “What’s for dinner” when you have a busy family.
